i noticed the lack of posts that are made , before the update around 60 new posts where made on a daily basis? did installing the new forums, kill the comunity here?

It seems really dead to me, I was thinking maybe because the lack of the link on the main page which lets you know which posts are new.

Hmmmm? According to the posting stats, there are already 500 posts on this forum and it's only been up for a few days.. that's over 100 a day. To me it seemed much busier than the other forums.

Either way, I'll have the mod so the posts are displayed on the front page soon.

Yeah, it allows the lazy ones, like myself to decide where to put in our 3 coins (inflation)

I will freely admit that I was much more active on the posts before because I didn't have to constantly dig through to see what had been posted on, and in what forum, so I am eagerly awaiting the patch to allow the front page forums to once again show up there...

I agree... I find it much more difficult to get involved in interesting threads.

Quality, not quanitity.

Synozeer 04-24-2002 02:00 PM

The forum has been getting over 150 posts a day, which I believe is more than the other forum had.

Why not just click on the "New Posts" link when you want to see new posts? That seems much easier to me than how the other forum handles new posts.

When I have time, I'm still planning on implementing the new topics hack so everyone can see the latest posts on the main site.

I find that I'm replying much more. The email notification of thread replies is great, because I don't have to keep checking the front page for replies that may scroll off the recent discussion list. Also, the "New Posts" button helps alot too, even if it appears to be a little buggy.

Plus there's a code tag so I don't have to jump through hoops to get that indentation-sensitive material posted =).
