This could be done through oprogs (if you have them) or through a special weapon flag, or hard coded, or ####, several other ways off the top of my head, would just depend on what you have in place and how you want to do things...

If you look at the extended title, it seems he is talking about a specific mud, so it wouldn't really be a coding thing. I'm not sure though.
