RetroMUD Launches New Website

RetroMUD.org is proud to announce the launch of its newly designed website. It boasts filterable skill/spell lists, easier to access guild information, and more modern design elements. Please check out the site and our game at:

The website redesign/relaunch is just one of the many efforts that continue to go into keeping RetroMUD current, challenging, and most of all fun! If you are looking for a MUD that offers unmatched variety, an active staff, and a banana-boatload of areas/eq/monsters, then definitely come on over and give us a try.

Thanks! Hopefully interested parties will be able to find information on the game as easily as our experienced players do.

It also should be noted that it contains all of the in-game help files as well as specific guild skill/spells for every guild - which means even our veteran players make very frequent use of our site :)

Yeah, looks nice. I like the nice sliding action and the fade in/out loading pages on the skill and spell pages. Makes it feels smooth.

What is the image you used in the background?

Thanks. jQuery is a terrific framework that I'd highly recommend to anyone evaluating javascript libraries.

The image started as a desktop wallpaper that was then modified to stretch with website and look a little more like an imagined scene from the water planet Wysoom.

It really has come a long way. I think there's still a copy of the dated version at for those who want to compare and measure the progress that has been made.
