Many of you complained in the "What class are you" poll that there are other classes, and others said something about professions. So, I ask what is your common Profession. What do you do IG as RP?
Do you wander about, are you a crafter, are you a caster, a beggar? What do you do, not just, What is your class?" |

Actually, my main character is both a magic-wielder -and- a politician. Maybe that's the worst kind of them. *chuckles*

My main char on one MUSH is, are you ready? A wizard, a crafter, and alchemist, a translator of four languages, a former dog-riding military conscript, *and* a courier.

I'm going with Other. On the MUSH I usually play on, I've got a char who's an ex-doctor and a char who's a scientist. Which more or less fits under 'other', from what I can tell.

Um...
Paladin, Magic-user, etc. those are not professions, they are classes. Court Jester or something could be the profession FOR a magic-user, or historian or something, but Magic-User is the class, as in Paladin. Professions are armorer, weaponsmith, cobbler, bartender, hunter, etc. etc. If possible, do the poll over please. ... |

I guess it depends on the game. There aren't any coded "professions" in the game I play, but there are "usual" skillsets and a "custom" skillset people can choose from, and no matter which they pick, they can train in ANY skill offered by the game. Just certain skills will cost more than others, depending on the set they choose.
My character is a mage. That is her profession and her avocation. She harnesses the power of darkness to destroy her enemies and heal her comrades. It is how she earns her keep, and Necromancy is the specific type of magic she uses. "Necromancer" would be another fitting "profession" name, but she personally prefers the term Mage, because she is also learning a bit of Sorcery, which is a totally different realm of magic. |

I'm definatly a multi, I'm a destined god (well belive I am), a psychologist, a hyptnotist, leader of a clan, healer, I'm also completely out of my mind but that isn't really a proffesion, I'm also currently being hunted by Feyona, again not really a proffesion, I also tend to get married a lot, again not a proffesion, but I think multi was still a good vote for me

Other than being a big burly biker dude with an attitude and apparently a whining, complacent work-a-holic? Erm wait, you wanted game RP type RP. *grin* In that case, I've played a cartogropher, a seamstress and oh so many others. With merchants coming in soon and farming/herbal gardening I have some new career planning to do *cackle*

It's me, Kenjar... inty and kyrene you know me by about 34 other names. I RP a crual sadistic demon wizard, who loves to hate everything, and is a member of this demon military. When he's not blasting people to bits he's spitting and making jokes about them. I also sometimes play a speech impaired gnome obsessed with protecting trees and An evil psionicist bent on destroying the world. Yahh

Actually, I usually end up being a kind of traveler, explorer type that is famous for 'knowing things'. If there is a new spell coded or a new area been approved or a new weapon, object or murder or anything like that, I find it out. But no one takes advantage of me because I also know how to train my fighting very well, for one reason because one has to protect and feed himself in the wilderness. Also you don't wish to mess with someone who is quite knowledgable of spells... he might, y'know, actually practise it!
Explorer/Survivor I suppose I could call myself |

Wherever its available on an RP MUD, I always play an artist character. Which is funny, given that I have no artistic talent whatsoever.
On muds that aren't quite as RPI, I usually play warriors, paladins, or other sorts of humorless honorable good guy people. That's also funny, considering I'm nothing like that IRL either... J |

I always tend to be a channeler or a warrior. The warrior class is what I perfer for in the MUD I play (based off a series of books), the male channelers are suppose to go mad-like and stuff. Plus, the good people try and take away their magic powers. I always a good guy so I don't like that. Warriors also can have a lot of good roleplay if you do some stuff in certain guilds, etc. RP is what I like most about MUDs, so I pick the best possible ways for that. Warrior.

Magic user. Though RP isn't much of a focus, if I did RP as a magic user, I'd rather be a free adventurer than a shopkeeper or guard. Vive la Chaotic Neutral!

My profession is that of a pirate (jack of all trades).
I dabble in everything and have become an accomplished fighter as well as learning some of the healing arts of magic. In the mud I play we also have herbs that can harm as well as heal. And also do a large variety of other things to the body. I chose multi-profession because my character can do it all. At times I may help someone in danger as any pirate would always back the underdog in a fight. Then at other times, seeing something that I must have, I'll make plans to rob someone of their goods, then sneak away under the cover of night. I also own shops to sell my pirated goods. A pirate is usually a fairly good merchant (always having that hard to find item that everyone is looking for). I travel a great deal with a nod and a smile to anyone new I might meet along the roadside. Only thing I need now is a BOAT |

I play a mage, but I am not a politican. I am a Chancellor. It sounds a great deal better and you get more respect.

My vote will be weird, but I play a few different types:
A military grunt with aspirations of leadership An idealistic entertainer (Dead characters) A female wizard with a skewed perspective and a fetish for enslaving |

Although I have played a number of characters, there are only two characters I have invested a lot of time in.
One was a member of the law enforcement + the Judicial department. Since she was kind of weak in combat, she was mostly responsible for paper work or questioning suspects, but not much into actually arresting criminals. Since she has good relationships with the nobles, she was also a legal representative of one of the Dukes in the realm, although not much actual work was needed there, because the law favoured the nobles anyway. The other character was a knight wannabe . However, before she became a knight, she had to be a stable-girl and a servant of senior knights first. And since she was never knighted before her death, she spent most of her life being a servant Another character I liked a lot had a really short life, but I enjoyed her career as far as it went. She was rping a geisha who had fatal heart disease. Her dancing and singing performance was the best rp scene I have done. Too bad the character was finally shot down because of mud policy |

It hurt to cast that vote.
A warrior of some sort! A Ranger requires it's own category, if a "some sort" is required then "demi-god" is a good fit. Sylvado |
