Women are more social then men, and a higher percentage of female MUDders spend more time socializing than working on their character.
There's also the tendancy for male MUDders to be extra helpful to female MUDders, reducing the requirement for females MUDders to go exploring on their own.
There are exceptions to this rule, and women can end up banding together forming a group of amazons that are more organized and dedicated than the male clans (sometimes).
Message boards are a social hangout, and it makes more sense that women spend more time on them than men.
