It's not much of a stretch to say he changed the world. He was a huge part of exporting, for better or worse, American culture to the world at large. The past thirty years have seen alot of nasty divisions in mankind with politics, religion, wars, etc etc, but it's the rare corner of the world that didn't share an affection for Billy Jean and We are the World.

After China opened up due to Nixon's visit, MJ was one of the first American performers to play there and had a positive influence on China's relations with the West.
