If 100% hack-n-slash is not your thing, and you prefer a more relaxed pace of wandering and exploring, and finding interesting things appeals to you, you might consider landing on FluxWorld. As a new visitor, you'll find a spaceport that has some immediate options for new people, along with a little motivation to get money soon enough. There are plenty of ways of finding and earning money, and even more ways to spend it. Of course, there is a loan system, for those unwilling to save it all up ahead of time (somewhat like todays world of credit).

Parts of the system have details behind the scenes that wont be appreciated until later. Things like the food you eat are actually grown, and the animals slaughtered for the meat. The materials for crafting and other building are actually mined or processed to get the metals, leathers, cloths, etc.

There are destinations in space to visit, on various planets, and plenty to see on FluxMain itself all over. Sub-plots to the main theme add some interesting messages in specific rooms or areas, and some of this leads into RP, as the sub-plot dictates. RP is encouraged, and never forced, and where it does exist, its a pretty natural feeling sort of thing.

Players can work up to building their own place to live and calling it home, and furnishing it with living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom things.

There are some interesting dangers lurking about, but nothing that causes a player kill unless you ask an admin to turn that on for you.

There are limited creature kill areas for building up money, and working on RPG skills, but mostly, those skills are used in other areas, or for access to more advanced rooms and areas.

Quests, the GOTD (Game Of The Day), scavenger hunts, and some other puzzles or things to do, will keep you busy. Most of them pay, so its worth trying just for that reason.
