Polling the players, 9 out of 10 still say it is.
However, the only way to keep any game fun is by keeping it dynamic rather than static. Also, no game is fun if the players aren't the central point in events and policies. In Ateraan 80% of the events are player run and controlled so there are several events per week that go on in the game. I think this is extremely helpful for interaction and roleplay.
