If you have never played Threshold, this series of events is a great opportunity to try it out. They are designed to be enjoyed by people of any experience level with the game.

** Events **

1) Artifacts of the Anathema: Recently, some mysterious artifacts appeared which were taken up and used by an adventurer of Sable. Sadly, the artifacts were soon lost to an invading kobold army. The kobolds retreated in victory and began experimenting with the artifacts - unleashing destructive forces and eventually searing nearby humanoids with a cold iron brand. This event will continue toward its player determined conclusion during this time period.

2) Pokka Eggs: Alchemists have discovered a new breed of creature that seems to be experiencing a population explosion. These diminutive creatures have downy white feathers, a short but pointed beak, and four toed slightly webbed feet. The have tentatively been given the name "pokka."

While some locals have been domesticating them and keeping them as pets, others have been wondering if they might be "good eatin'". They reproduce by laying eggs, and much could be learned about them if we had enough eggs to study. Thus, the King of Sable and the Emperor of Thrace have joined together in sponsoring a drive to collect as many of these eggs as possible.

Artists from both kingdoms have also found that the eggs are a great medium for a certain type of dye. They have begun painting the eggs as a new form of art. The King and the Emperor have chosen to support this new breed of artistic expression, and are interested to see how creative people can be in painting these new "pokka eggs." Once they are painted, they are no longer good for study, but they still make for beautiful art.

Award winning painted eggs will be magically preserved and given to their creator along with a black laquer display pedestal. These are designed for permanent display in a house. If the creator is not a homeowner, there are surely homeowners who would love to purchase such a work of art.

3) Participation Challenge: We are going to test out something that may become a permanent feature. Players will earn 1 point when they attend an event, and extra points for 1st and 2nd place (2 points for 2nd, and 3 points for 1st). At the end of the period, prizes will be awarded based on the final scores. Only officially sanctioned STEA events will count. If you want to obtain STEA point sanction, speak with a member of the STEA well in advance of your event to get it approved (do not try to get approval on the same day as the event).

4) Many Events: In coordination with this Participation Challenge, the STEA and the admins will run many events during this period. Make sure you check the calendar and login often!

5) March Madness: It is that time again! Join the Threshold March Madness pool to win prizes, bragging rights, and feel the joy of taunting and smack talking your fellow Threshers. Check the forums for details.

** Registration Specials **

1) Double ThreshCredits: We recently added a lot of new things you can do with your TCs, so we want to help people load up!

2) Ring of Solidarity: Everyone who registers at least $50 (or purchases at least $50 in register extras) will obtain this autoloading ring. The armor value is equal to the most protective ring in Threshold. It will autoload from now until the end of the Spring Fling. After that, you can store it in any regular armory type storage facility. Its two active powers can be used once per hour. They are are:

Unification - Forged to foster Unity between the Kingdom of Sable and the Empire of Thrace, the wearer of this ring can teleport from the center of either capital city to the center of the other capital city. Up to 4 people can be teleported along with the wearer (whoever is in the wearer's party).

Camaraderie - This power is designed to bring reflection upon the importance of one's guild. The effects based on guild are:
The first time you wear it, it will give you let you choose the material and color: iron, mithril, steel, gold, silver
