If you don't mind trying a new game then you might find Maiden Desmodus offers much of what you are looking for. I'm not that familiar with Imperian but I was influenced by Avalon when designing Maiden Desmodus so you will probably find several similarities with what you are used to.

We are still in beta and only just opened to players so it's a chance to get involved early on and help the game grow and develop.
