The only time Achaea's ever finished below 2nd place was the very first round when we joined years ago, as we joined halfway through.
The trophy used to switch (and Aardwolf should have it now) but it's a manual thing. I used to have to remind Adam to move the trophy to us when Aardwolf had it previously.
I can only assume that Derek is busy working on the site and ensuring that little things like that are automated. He owns Aardwolf after all. I'm sure he's not intentionally slighting his own MUD by not putting the trophy there.
