Community MU* Promotion
With the apparent lack of awareness about even the existence of MUDs, MUSHes, et al, I started wondering if anyone had ever considered organizing an attempt by the community to promote text-based gaming in general through some major gaming media outlets such as magazines. I don't mean promoting a single game, I mean promotion of text-based gaming in general. Perhaps one of the larger commercial MUDs which have more experience with paid advertising could provide suggestions regarding the most visible media and prices for various sizes/types of ads. If paid advertising really has an effect in convincing readers to try out some MU*s then perhaps a project like this could work in raising awareness of text-based gaming in general.
Thoughts? Input? Discussion?
