Heres a scenario that we see often in assorted MUDs everywhere:
You have a large area that seems to go on forever, say a desert or an ocean, rooms repeating identically with no change over an enormous span.

How do you keep it interesting to players without designing 100 utterly unique rooms? A 10x10 area isnt so hard to conceive for a desert to get lost in, and its often not possible to write a nice tasty little puzzle for each and every room, and still have the area completed on schedule. I personally like to try and add a little something more than a randomly generated critter, but i was wondering what other people have done as well.

I am currently experiementing with rooms that load in modules, so even if you have only 7 different modules, you still have 49 different combinations if you load two of them together randomly.
