In DartMUD, unlike most other MUDs, you cannot buy the vast majority of items from NPC shops (unless they were sold to the NPC by a PC).
Crafts include:
Alchemy
Brewing
Chandlery
Farming
Herbalism
Lumbering
Metallurgy
Milling
Mining
Sewing
Smithing
Woodworking
And a couple that escape me at the moment...
I've been playing DartMUD for nearly a decade, and there are active players who have been around longer than I have. Playability isn't a problem.
