At Threshold RPG, we have a fanatical dedication to having the best hardware and the best net connection possible. We upgrade hardware and connectivity long before such upgrades are needed. Threshold's players reap the rewards of this outlook. In furtherance of this philosophy, we have recently completely an upgrade of both the server and net connection for Threshold RPG.

The server upgrade was done to accommodate the significant growth we have experienced during this year. This hardware upgrade comes as a surprise to our player base as they have never noticed a single problem, and that is precisely how we like it: upgrade before we need to, and everyone stays happy.

The hosting facility upgrade was done for two major reasons.

1) We wanted access to more backbones to ensure a top-notch connection for everyone and to eliminate the possibility of downtime should any single backbone experience a router failure or a maintenance window.

2) Better power backups. In the past we have relied on battery power backups. Last year's Hurricane Isabel and this year's frenzy of hurricanes have made us no longer confident in battery backups alone. Our new hosting facility has diesel power generators in addition to battery backups, and a contract for emergency diesel delivery in case of an extended loss of power.

This move might cause temporary difficulties for some people trying to reach Threshold.

Our new IP number is: 64.253.106.100

At the time of this posting, thresholdrpg.com already resolves to that IP address for most people. If for some reason it does not resolve there for you, you can also use new.thresholdrpg.com.

We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued loyal and dedicated support for almost 9 years. Any difficulties you have in reaching Threshold as a result of this change should be very temporary.
