Given all the recent controversy, I'd like to shamelessly turn it into a plug.
Carrion Fields doesn't violate the DIKU licence by selling in-game equipment, quest points, or other rewards. Now, part of this is because we respect the groundbreaking efforts of the original DIKU team, but there's also a reason that's fundamental to how we run things over on CF:
Every character starts off on the same footing. We're 100% free to play, and we mean it. You won't end up competing against other characters who have a small pile of 'special' bonuses just because their player sent in a check. Everything in the game is earned in the game. Want to be the high priest of your religion? Give a sermon, smite the unbelievers, write a holy text, get a statue erected... but have the player leave the checkbook at home. Your money's no good in Hamsah Mu'Tazz, outsider!
