Just thought I'd share a quick summary of what's up these days on OtherSpace:

* We've kicked off our month-long summer celebration, which culminates on June 28 with the 11th anniversary of the game. My plan is to mark the occasion with the opening of the first new world on the grid: Hekayt Prime.

* We're offering badges for all players who participate on the game this month, plus extra badges to our sponsorship players who contribute toward server costs, marketing, and re-caffeination. Use PayPal to send donations to

* We've started the first roleplaying "belt" achievement process. Green Belts and Blue Belts have been issued. This weekend, we move on to Yellow Belts.

* Reode has provided several illustrations of our new races, including the Llivori, Gankri, and Hekayti.

* Overall story-wise: The formation of a government on Aukam known as the Koltkamir is creating a new threat to the Outversers who now make their home on Comorro Station. Ribas Salek, a Llivori freighter captain, has been exiled from his homeworld because of his outspoken disapproval of his leaders caving to the Zar of the Koltkamir. Silvereye Paintedheart, Comorro's Minister of Outverser Affairs, is trying to broker peace between the Koltkamir and the Hekayti. Interesting times!

* Special offer: New players are invited to apply as survivors of the lost village of Roanoke on Earth. Lost in a rift in space-time, taken to Hiverspace 2650. Offer ends June 30.

* Crafting: Armor, weapons, and crafting components are done. I've got to wrap up gadgets, schematics, deedgivers, and NPC player butlers. That should take up much of this weekend.
