The Weeping Stones island chain, home of the mocha-skinned Moss Men in their clothes made from hemp and palm fronds, is now open for roleplay thanks to the addition of Weeping Stones to the chargen selections. Right now, we've got the first two islands - Thakos and Astri - available for play. The following careers are available: Merchant, Fisherman, Publican (politician), and Priest/Priestess (shaman/healer).
The Weeping Stones rooms give a decent walk-through of the culture, but you'll want to know the following about naming conventions: Moss Men get their first names from their parents, and the first name usually has two or three syllables, lyrical sounding, heavy on vowels. If you're male and you live on Thakos, without exception your last name is Thakossen or "son of Thakos." Females on Thakos have the last name of Thakosdotur or "daughter of Thakos." The same convention follows on Astri, where the last name for men is Astrisen and the last name for women is Astridotur.
Please keep in mind that the islands are pretty bare bones right now, but it's at least enough to get your characters on the grid and acclimated. Enjoy!
