My first taste of MUD came at the tender age of 8 when my parents played a game on British Telecom's Micronet system called Shades, back when you had to pay for the phone call AND pay for the game. Boy did they rack up some bills...

I started properly playing them when I discovered the internet around age 16, 11 years ago now. Then again I haven't actively played a MUD for at least 6 years now.
