SirTank is on a distinguished road
This is pretty hard for me to do, so please bear with me.

Medieval Times MUD is a long running and stable MUD. We have been up since the Mid 90's and hark back to an orig 'vision' daking back to a diku MUD in 1991. There has always been a core staff of 4 IMPS, and over time many greater gods, gods and immortals. Lately real life, WoW and various other commitments has reduced the staff. Previously we had a policy of only allowing mortals wh have reached the highest level in the game to become Imms, and work their way up to various positions of responsibility. This has always ensured that the Imms are intouch with the players and the MUD, and generally have a vested interested in the continuation of the MUD.

But now, I feel I must reach out for some new blood. There are a lot of things that could be added, and a lot of freedom to add those things is available.

Currently we are looking for a Head Builder. This is someone who is well versed in the english language. Creativeness is important and the ability to oversee many building projects is
mandatory. We currently have a world of 14,000+ rooms and about another 10,000 in building status. Our building is completely web-based and is very fast and powerful.

We are also looking for Creative Directors in such matters as
Clans, Tradeskills, Housing, etc. We have a mySQL backend to support any system. We currently have a few tradeskills hardcoded and a few extra systems like gem socketing and a poison creation system. We are looking to implement more such as smithing, baking, pottery etc.

Another unique position is a cartographer. We could really use some better maps of our zones, islands, continents and world.

Coders, we definitely need more coders to implement the creative ideas. Our base is Circle. It uses mySQL and a few things are still t-file based. The code is heavily modified, almost nothing but the heatbeat and socket code is left from Circle so it may take some time getting used to our code, which is understandable, but of course we are looking for someone who can trudge through other coder's work without getting too terribly disgusted. We have probably had 10 or more coders throughout the time workign on it, and some of them did an awful job, other have done brilliant work, so it can be messy in some parts. We take coding positions very seriously here at MT. We want our coders to know the mud first. You will be expected to play a bit, get a feel for the current player's perspective so that when you develop, you can do it in the best interest of the player.

So, if you are looking for an opportunity to be creative, please stop by and telk to me, thanks!

Tank
