Realm of the Magi (formally DragonStorm) is a LP/LDmud derived, text-based, real-time dark & magical fantasy themed role play game, that features fully interactive creatures and non-player characters, a driven skill and spellcasting dice-based combat system, an assortment of player-driven classes, the ability to experience 'dragon flight', a unique quest & puzzle reputation system, hundreds of 'soul' feelings and over 5,000+ realms to explore!

Currently, we are reorganizing our development and administration team, thus have a number of new openings under our world builder department. The primary goal is working on redeveloping the game content to be a little more 'personal' in nature and more quest oriented. We are seeking a number of LPC developers (programmers) to help us finish up the primary area and get the game into a working state: implementation of new multi-class system, QC/QA for Camden City area (over 500 rooms alone), random treasure creation (utilizing MySQL database and sqld daemon), non-player character (NPCs) personalization and many other projects like this.

Realm of the Magi currently runs LDmud 3.2.9 Driver and the FEAR V2 Mudlib (a base 2.4.5 mudlib that has been replicated and enhanced with more up to date documentation, code examples, database, inherits, daemons and even an improved security system) that we designed from the get go. Our LPC environment is very easy to learn and offers a number of includes usually found in either MudOS or Amylaar-based LPmuds.

Note: There is no global OLC programming tool (however we are looking for those that would like to develop one) for building areas, creatures, items, etc -- so the entire internals of the game are strictly hardcoded in LPC. Even if you don't have the greatest (if any) programming skills in LPC, our mentor staff is always nearby and willing to help teach you the primary basics and even some advanced skills for those that catch on quickly and looking for a challenge (i.e. read as future administrators). Our fun and highly interactive teaching method will have you up and coding in usually just under a week.
