The thread Look What I Coded in Advanced Mud Concepts got me thinking.

In the interactive industry, the client is usually a corporation that has their own mission and plan. Their clients, the end user, effect their mission and their plan. As long as the plan is sound though, the end users do not drastically effect their plan. This is because implementing the plan is what attracted the clients in the first place. End user input helps to refine the plan put in place by the corporation.

I think the main difficulty is that end users are not direct clients of coders and builders, administrators are their direct client. Skipping steps involving intermediate clients occurs a lot on muds because builders and coders are often administrators as well.
