As for the rest - You apologized. You are far different then that little group of spammers. You actually have the maturity to realize when you are wrong, and are able to apologize for it.
Am I "spamming"? By most definitions, no. However, there are a few definitions that are wide enough that would imply that I spam. But, those definitions would also imply that a large part of the posters on this thread and other threads, including Orion, Molly, Threshold, etc., spams. And that does not happen. Simply because I am more vocal about being anti-spam does not make me a spammer by any means. Unless, of course, you use said wide definitions - and if you do, accuse everyone involved of spamming, not just one person.
