Yep. We've done that for years. Paying in virtual currency avoids all sorts of problems. That's easy though. You can just pay someone in gold or whatever your in-game currency is. It has value whether you sell it for cash or not. The point was that the potential advertising revenue to be gained from a few hundred (or even a few thousand) players is trivial and not worth either the set-up cost or the friction costs that I can see. We'd be doing it if I thought it was.
