Re: Mass Effect: Alpha & Omega

| |

Mass Effect: Alpha & Omega is set in the Mass Effect universe a year after the end of the Reaper War. The Reapers were destroyed, and the galaxy is slowly rebuilding. A growing mercenary group called Alpha Phoenix finds itself ever-more-involved in galactic events beyond their home turf of Omega, leading many of them to wonder just what they've gotten themselves into.

Here's what we're like:

Roleplay-only gaming: our emphasis is on story and character, and all code supports those ends. We have no levels, no stats, and no classes, which means no grinding, saving, or earning XP to play the awesome character you imagine!

Stellar writing quality: no, really. We've got some amazing writers who create dynamic, fascinating characters through RP and other IC writing.

Diverse characters: the Mass Effect setting gives us a dozen playable species and over fifty combat powers - no two characters look alike! Sound daunting? No worries - play something familiar, like a human who shoots guns, or ask staff to walk you through a concept to end up with something that fits you!

Staff-run plot plot arcs combined with player-run plots: we have several ongoing story arcs that are starting to really pick up steam, including recurring villains and galactic mysteries. We also encourage players to fill in the downtime with adventures ranging from wild skycar chases on Illium to killing pirates on Invictus to dealing with a fuel shortage (and the subsequent cold) on the home turf of Omega. There's always something to RP about.

Tight setting, open world: we tie all our characters together through a common setting, but they exist in a wide-open galaxy, and we take full advantage of this! Plots can take us to space stations, secret labs, frozen planets or planets overtaken by vicious wildlife, the lights of the big city or the abandoned stretch of once-great ruins. It means that there's always an excuse to RP together - and never a chance of getting bored with where you are.

Small, but active and friendly community: there's almost always someone on to chat with, with RP happening through the day (though it's heaviest in the US evenings). RP is a constant, but we also like to chatter about the newest Marvel movie or what video games we're playing lately - and specific channels for each means you only get the chatter you're interested in!
