It's a Roman-era based MUD with an intricate combat system and over a hundred thousand rooms to explore. Role-playing is mandatory. The game has been online for over 10 years now and is still going strong. It has by far the best combat mechanics out of any MUD's ever created.

Just wanted to share with others that have played this game before (or haven't yet) that this game is now free to play with the ability to purchase basic and premium accounts. The game was pay-to-play only until very recently. If you already have an old account on the game, you can now log in for free or if you want to create a new one, you can create a trial account (which has most of the basic account's benefits) for a period of 1 month before it becomes free and you then lose those benefits unless you want to pay.

Just to make it clear, you have no penalties for not being a paying account. You will still gain the same amount of experience (skill points) and the same role-playing abilities as anyone else.

Back in the days when it was free to play it was often the number 1 MUD on this website and constantly edged out Realms of Despair and Achaea. Now that it's free to play again we're hoping that we'll be able to challenge the other MUD's out there again!
