Mudlet 1.0 is out! (MUD client)

A year and three months in development, the 1.0 release of Mudlet is here!

What is Mudlet? It’s a free, open-source and cross-platform MUD client that works on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS! Designed to be fast, efficient, and user-friendly, you can get your own copy for free right here:

Mudlet features Lua as it’s scripting base and a rich client API to support it. Split screen, auto-completion from output and input, multi-session gaming, HTML and text logging, replay recording and playback are all part of the package.

Mudlet also features a rich UI api for creating your own labels and buttons anywhere on the screen and changing their looks:

Special focus has also been placed on the speed of the client ().

Now go out and enjoy Mudlet! We’d love to hear your feedback on .

Re: Mudlet 1.0 is out! (MUD client)

I watched both videos, nice stuff Vadi!
One thing you might look at is the Regex on Aliases, maybe just have it so that it inserts the ^ etc?
I'm thinking 'newbie friendly' on that part, most won't understand what it wants.
Also, any thought on it receiving telnet subnegotiation? Idea that you could then have health meters, score etc, whatever the MUD sent out.

I like the style and layout, and it seems pretty intuitive to use. Open source, too, which is obviously a big plus for any mud owner who wants to invest a lot of effort into plugins and customisation.

Good to see some quality work still being done for mudders. Looks like a nice clean layout and already very functional. Bookmarked for later.

We'll allow plain text patterns on aliases too in the future. I agree that regex isn't overly newbie friendly to start with.

Re: Mudlet 1.0 is out! (MUD client)

Amazing start so far Vadi, I've been showing it to people on my game and also linked it on the FAQ page of my game for people to get as a client option for the 3 platforms (). People are rightfully excited about it, especially those who are familiar with Mush client.

If I can figure out how to make it worth with health meters, mana, move, money etc, I'll make a patch. That'll be a while though, wasn't sure if that was info sent via telnet subnegotiation or if it took like 'prompt' info (like the compass seems to?).

Huge thanks though Vadi, it's great to see new life and continued dev on a Mud client.
