In Memoriam: Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (1932-2008)
Majel Barrett-Roddenberry who was the wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry as well as the original first officer ("Number One") in Star Trek's first pilot ("The Cage"), Nurse Christine Chapel on Star Trek, Lwaxanna Troi (Counselor Troi's mother) on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, and the voice of the computer on EVERY Star Trek series as well as the films (and even many Trek computer/video games) has died at age 76. Her final role, fittingly, is as the voice of the computer in the upcoming Star Trek film due out next year. |
