Unique-timeline SWR Hiring (Galactic Conquest/Dark Nebulas)

Star Wars: Galactic Conquest is in the final development stages and is open for late-stage playertesting. We do, however, require a few more builders to help us achieve this task.

We're currently hiring builders, writers, graphic/web designers, people with imaginitive minds, and (possibly) a part-time or full-time coder. If you do not know how to build, we do offer training.


Game Info

The game has a totally unique timeline, put together by our storytellers. This timeline differs from Canon in a spectacular way, allowing us to forge our own events and history in the Star Wars Universe!

The Empire in all it's glory has been long obliterated, with the exception of rumored areas still under their control in the Outer Regions. None of these remaining factions are considered a threat to the stabilized government.

The New Republic is in a state of galactic peace.

Out of nowhere .. chaos.

The Coruscant Sun, ever a bright light in the Core, has gone supernova, leaving the system nothing but a mass of debris, fields spread out over a huge area. Trillions die in the blast, but all is not lost: the asteroids and chunks of rock created by the explosion are discovered to be rich in materials. Miners, colonists, and the riffraff of the galaxy flock to the region, infested with dense nebula and asteroid fields. Pirates construct bases inside hollowed-out asteroids deep inside the nebulas, preying on the innocent shipping in the newly formed trade lanes. Miners carve large amounts of expensive metals and fuel from the rocks. Colonists, and those wishing a challenge, begin to attempt to terra-form large asteroids.

The Republic, in a bid to maintain the peace it has kept the Galaxy in over the years since the fall of the Empire, relocate their headquarters to Metellos. As loose bands of pirates begin to form into more dangerous factions, the Republic feels the imminent threat breathing down their necks, and start to clamp down on the pirates. This only causes more piracy and larger rogue factions to erupt, bringing about immense problems for the Republic in the region -- which Metellos, the Republic's base, lies just outside.

Will the Imperials take advantage of this new turmoil in those they once called Rebels, and attempt to wrest control of the Galaxy, or will these new rogue groups evolve into something larger, and much more dangerous?

And .. what was the real cause of the Coruscant Supernova?

Some of our best features:

Virtual Space - Space is now, literally, (to a point) infinite! You're not confined to single systems, but instead can branch your explorations out into 'virtual systems'. The Galaxy is on a giant flat grid of X, Y coordinates. In each system, the standard X, Y, Z coordinates still exist. You can travel into 'uncharted space', find hidden pirate and clan bases, hide from the authorities, and more! Soon we will incorporate other features into this system, such as mineable asteroids.

Medical Class - Become a doctor, treat broken bones, wounds, and injuries of all kinds! Create clones of patients, so that they may live on, in a sense, after death. More coming soon!

Account System - Amass Roleplay Points, which you are given certain amounts of for exemplary roleplay, upon death, and for finding bugs. These allow you to purchase all kinds of goodies, like more advanced races, and even, eventually, Force ability!

Playerbuilt Spaceships - From blueprints and a pile of parts, engineering companies can construct their own spaceships to sell to players and governments.

Spacewalking - This feature is currently in the process of being coded, but will be able to do all kinds of awesome stuff. Stay tuned.

Force System - Totally awesome, FotE-inspired 'finfo'-style Force System. Create intelligent force storms that will chase your opponents, wreak havoc, and throw people and anything not bolted down around! Slash your opponents with your very own lightsaber, pull things towards you and push players away.

Weather System - This is really cool. Sudden dust storms can blind you, rain can limit your visibility, storms can throw stuff around, and (yes, really) lightning can strike people!

Timeline & Storytelling - You know, those things that make a Star Wars MUD a Star Wars MUD. Ours, though, makes a Star Wars MUD truly unique. As for storytelling, we have a small team of dedicated immortals to do imm-run quests and roleplay events. The players truly and completely shape the game themselves, but do expect, from time to time, an immortal to throw a wrench in the works!

Corruption-Free Immortals - You know who they are. Those corrupt, cheating immortals that set themselves with uberforcers and load up in one clan. Well, not here. Not going to happen. Ever. I will personally fire anyone who is caught cheating or acting in such a manner. This includes myself or other administrators. How do you know you can trust my word? I'm not an asshole, and I hate people who do that kind of thing, having been on the receiving end of it myself.



A few minor systems:

Recoded Player Housing System - Share your house with your spouse. Hey, that rhymes! Our Residentlist system allows you to add residents to your home, allowing them to enter without you having to be there.

Physics-minded Acceleration and Deceleration for Ships - Well, exactly what that sounds like. Ships take a few seconds to speed up or slow down.

Jetpacks - Jetpacks. But these.. actually, well, you know, occasionally run out of fuel, like real ones would. Also, you can actually turn them on and off.

Hyperspeed - Control your hyperspeed. The lower the speed, the longer it takes to get there, but the less fuel you'll burn.

Much More - These are some of the highlights but I cannot possibly list everything. You'll have to log in and experience it for yourself!



Please note that the state of the MUD is currently STABLE ALPHA.
