Two good beginner resources for area writing are and the .

Most muds will have their own house rules on what's acceptable. Since you play the mud, you probably have an idea already, but it doesn't hurt to ask the builder/head builder you will be cooperating with.

Good luck.

Make sure that the mud you're working for gives you standards for what they find acceptable in their descriptions. A mud's descriptions should flow and be consistant, even between areas with different builders.

Other than that, make sure that your spelling and grammar are checked and that you describe in full sentences with plenty of adjectives. Keep in mind that giving your players an accurate picture is much better than using big words to sound lofty or "intelligent". Watch for dangling modifiers and such because that is the most common msitake found in descriptive writings.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Thanks for all the help! I've read through it all, and I've got a much better idea of what I'm doing now, as well as ideas of how to go about it. I'm sure I'll do a great job now with all the help, Thanks!
