Portal client not uninstalled?

Using Windows 7.

My Portal client ( started glitching and became unopenable. Not being able to find an uninstall file, I simply deleted the Portal folder in "Program Files (x86)," and downloaded the installer again.

When trying to run the installer, it acts as if Portal is still installed (stupid me, been so long that I forgot the install program is also the uninstall program) and gives the option of uninstalling or cancelling the operation.

Attempting to uninstall gives this error message

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Could not find the start of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Borland Shared'.
"Details" gives this information:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

< jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

The other option is "Continue," and it does not work does not work, obviously (wouldn't be looking for help if it did)

I tried deleting all Borland items in the registry, and running CCleaner, but no change.

Anything else I might try?
