Thank you.. although I think its slightly ironic that the moderators only stepped in so long after (no action even when Soleil has to comment on the flaming yet again) that I had to post such a long reply pointing out the obvious that this promotional thread has been smeared into anything but... that appropriate actions were then finally taken.

Looks like I got to it in about 15 hours. I'm sorry if you think I should be checking every thread on TMS more often than once per day, but sometimes I have things to do.

15 hours is plenty fast for a discussion forum like this. If moderation was always that fast, we'd probably have a lot more activity here. Well done, Valg.

Medevia:

I've been playing Med for over 3 years and many of the players there have also been playing for years. I have even met my husband there and many friends who I never could have met otherwise!

Medievia is a game for everyone...you can play by yourself or a group of friends. There is a lot of posts about what Med contains rich environment, lots of people, lots to do, ect..

When Med was unstable a while back I came to tms and tried all the top muds, and the one in 5th place had 20 people online. Medievia has 300+ people on at any given time and players from all over the world. It's also much larger and easier to learn than most of the others.

My only drawback of Medievia is this:

DRAMA... people get over emotional of the game and go off the deep end often.
People complain about the game, complain about how it's run, complain about everything that can be complained about... but alot of them keep coming back... why?

If you are looking to try something new and feel up to using years of your life if you get into it, then Medievia is the place for you!

on a side note: Vryce is one crazy guy, he has crazy ideas but then again without those ideas Medievia would not be here and keep people involved for so long.

Thanks!

I see you forgot to mention this is a PAY FOR PERKS mud & in order to compete in PK you will have to pay hard cash to get adequate eq.  You will not, repeat NOT, be on an even playing field if you do not pay for the perks.

Imo, this is abuse. This is a mud that's been banned by synozeer and at the mud owner's behest, someone now deliberately spams weekly feature lists to keep a front page presence. Seems a bit off to me.

As Adam explained, they were kicked off the voting list, because they broke the rules for the voting list. They were not kicked off the database listing as there are no rules for belonging to the database listing.

How about some moderation here, moderators? Slamming Medievia doesn't belong in a thread on Advertising.

It's not clear to me at this point what they are/aren't allowed to use. I'll let Adam make that call, and would appreciate if you would as well.

That said, repeating the same ad three times isn't exactly great netiquette. If you have something new to add, tyreblood, feel free to do so. Otherwise, let's not have the advertising forum devolve into a round-robin of "*bump*", or variants thereof.

Hmm, I do know why they were removed, but thanks anyway. And, in fact, I'm also not really slamming the mud Medievia itself. Never played it, so I can't say if it's any good. It might be outstanding for all I know.

What I'm slamming is the technique of repeating exactly the same feature list week after week after week. To me, that's spam and abuse.

If a moderator could confirm that's fine, users repeating exactly the same information to keep the same thread at the top, that's cool too. What if everyone does that?

Adam's made it clear to me privately already, and I'd think that in any case, the fact that they ARE still in the database would tell you something.

Edit: Lest you get the wrong impression, Adam is not giving me privileged information or whatnot. It just happened to come up during a conversation about TMS.

Sorry, I wasn't implying you were slamming them. Someone else did though, and he knows better (post has since been moderated out). Was just putting two ideas into one post.

Say, Tyre, along these lines, some advice, if you don't mind.. If you're going to post feature lists regularly, which seems to be allowed, why not pick a certain theme each week and expound upon features that contribute to that theme? For instance, "community dynamics" or "in-game politics" or "pvp combat" or whatever features you feel are appropriate rather than just posting the same thing. I bet that'd work out considerably better for you.
