I've only ever played one game that used HSpace, and while it did its job admirably, I couldn't help but feel like it didn't really "fit in" with the game system of most MUSHes. What I mean is that it imposes extremely detailed mechanics on the space system that frankly just isn't there on most MUSHes, in either the movement, combat, or building systems. In other words, it would work better with more MUDs than MUSHes.
Unless a MUSH has such detailed systems elsewhere, I think it's better to just use abstract ships (either as objects or "movable rooms"), and just freeform RP it. This isn't meant to be a criticism of HSpace, just an opinion that it doesn't fit into every space-based MUSH. Last edited by Zhiroc : 03-14-2009 at 03:18 PM. |
