Simply stated in the title, I'm looking for something close or exactly related to the anime/game series .hack, anybody know of one that exists in english?

Absolutely. Check out .Dimension 2, which is a beta-test phase MUD we're designing that combines gameplay elements of Diablo2, .hack, and Final Fantasy into an original world. It will likely be in test-phase for a while, due to our other projects that are about to be released to BETA-phase over the course of this summer, but you can connect via telnet to the link below.

* Many 'side-games' and collectible items including monster cards for every single monster in the game.

* Unique AI 'simulated players' called Locales that adventure alongside of you. Trade with them, group with them and even play cards! All mobs in the game, not just locales, are capable of trashtalking, begging for mercy, and even making personal comments about you!

* An equipment based system. Equipment can do anything from causing fire elemental damage to leeching life.

* Challenging campaigns give hardened players a difficult run to complete their kill list in the allotted time.

* 24 different limit breaks and the ability to hack and datadrain mobs make combat anything but boring.
