Theme

Dynasty is a medieval role-playing (enforced) MUD with stress on realism and quality. Our goal is to produce a realistic environment centered within a multi-cultural medieval city through proper research of Middle
Age cities. Realism and quality comes hand in hand, both through code and world construction.
With this comes an addition of down-toned fantasy; Dynasty has four different races (elves, dwarves, orcs and humans), commonly used in
Fantasy literature. Dynasty mixes time periods during the Middle Ages and take inspiration from all continents, Dynasty is therefore not a historically correct MUD, hence the word fantasy.

Our aim is to create a complete role-playing environment, where players influence and get influenced by the progress, without reducing gameplay factors.

Plot

Dynasty is situated within a sad scenario, centered on one multi-cultural medieval city under siege. The inhabitants of the city consist of a mixture of elves, dwarfs, orcs and humans, living together under difficult situations, brought on by cultural differences and past quarrels among the races. The elven queen rules the Capitol, but even she does not have total control, the powers of trade and politics are important elements. A new wave of humans arrives, with a completely different goal than the last that arrived, conquest. Suddenly, the races are forced to cooperate against the common foe who has taken over lands quickly and besieged the Capitol. The questions are many:

How will the city-dwelling humans react to the new arrivals?
How will the defenses hold against the new foe?
Will the siege bring the races closer together, or further apart?

Embark upon a journey, different from most others: fearsome and intriguing with aspects of both everyday life and excitement as the plot line evolves due to events brought on by players and immortals.

Engine:
Some resemblance of SMAUG, called TRE [the River’s edge code]. Building is done OLC with very powerful tools allowing MOB, item and room programs for enhanced creation. A player-friendly interference with lots of interesting features. The MUD will be centered around the webpage for future use.

Builder:
Dedicated and experienced builders aiming for perfection and with the ability to work both solo and in team with frequent progress. Good grammar and spelling is a demand, as well as samples of work sent in with application. Recommended age: above 16 years old.

Update:

Alpha testing is coming closer and closer.
Our aims for RP and world scenario will be tested within a 100 room zone, with a fixed number of testers, whom will recieve characters to play.
