Do you have an interest in building, writing, or creative thinking? Ever wondered what it would be like to live in ancient Rome, Atlantis, or Egypt? Have a passion for mythology, ancient Gods, or legendary creatures? Mythic Shores MUD is looking for individuals to join our project. With nearly two years invested into the development and building of much of the gameworld, we are not a MUD that is going to fade away overnight. Our small staff of dedicated members needs your help to make Mythic Shores come alive.

We are an RPI MUD (role-play insistant), with a high focus on social and realistic roleplay during our era. Our game is currently running on a customized diku-based code from a blend of the Shadows of Isildur RPI Engine and The Argila Project 2.0 release. Just a few features of the code include easy to learn commands and OLC system, a highly complex crafting system, LUA-scripting, and realistic combat and skill gains. The gameworld itself consists of three large areas of play, including the Roman Empire, the Isle of Atlantis, and the Port of Alexandria, Egypt. Each city has it's own government, economy, crafts, religious beliefs, gods and goddesses, mythological creatures, and special areas of interest to visit or explore.

Always had great ideas and quick thinking? We love having people on staff to give us boosts of creativity and inspiration about how to handle new situations and problems, or point out ways to improve on old ones. Do you enjoy creative writing? This is the place for you! Join our team as a builder and see your work come alive in the gameworld, including a variety of rooms such as buildings, roads, wilderness, oceans, and other indoor and outdoor areas, plus items and NPCs. Have a passion for history? Come work as a historian where you will research the ancient times assist other staff members and players in learning about the fashion, religion, music, economy, and other areas of importance to our three cultures. Are you always paying close attention to details? This position requires a special eye to add extras into the gameworld such as room programs, automated echoes, secret descriptions or exits and other scripts that help the game come alive. Is your area of interest a bit more technical? Why not become an assistant coder or webmaster where you will work behind the scenes to ensure the game is always running at its best.
