The Phyrrian Overmind, a ruling consciousness in command of all the sentient mechanoid Taskers, wants all sentient organics eliminated.

It has issued a deadline. On the 22nd day of September, all non-Phyrrian inhabitants of the Orion Arm must evacuate their worlds or be destroyed in a cleansing blitzkrieg by the forces of the Overmind.

The first shots in the war already have been fired.

A New Luna Militia advance recon vessel, the Saviour's Haste - piloted by Jeff Ryan, flew out to Phyrrian space last night. There, he was intercepted by an Odarite craft that appeared allied with the Phyrrians. Ryan opened fire, destroying the Odarite ship. He tried making a run for Phyrria to launch probes at the world, but he never made it: Five Phyrrian warships made short work of the Haste, killing the legendary leader of the group known as The Watchers.

Ryan is dead. The Overmind now threatens to accelerate the launch of the attack. The Odarites have decried the Haste's attack as an act of war by New Luna. And Ian Penumbra, owner of the massive carnival ship Orphic, is holding a lottery for those who want to take shelter aboard his ship when the time comes to flee.

And on all worlds, people are deciding whether to stand and fight or to join the exodus away from oblivion.

The final OtherSpace: New Journeys storyline is underway. It will last until June 28, 2008. That's when we make the switch to OtherSpace: Millennium and the universe takes a quantum leap into the future.

Get in on the original OtherSpace while you still can! If you own a ship on OS:NJ when it closes, you'll get a ship on OS:M when it opens. If you earn RP Reward Point Vouchers on OS:NJ, they'll be transferable.

The end has begun.

The Phyrrian Overmind, with help from the Odarite collaborators, slaughtered 4-million inhabitants in a single stroke on Luna. Ungstir, despite efforts to save it, was obliterated by the Decimator Fleet. And the paradise planet of New Luna has been overwhelmed by Phyrrian infantry, tank bots, sappers, and airborne fighters.

Crusading against all forms of sentient organic life, the Overmind has set the galaxy back on its heels. But the galaxy isn't just taking this lying down.

Survivors on New Luna are fighting back and, in the heavens above, allied fleets that combine forces that once were enemies are striking solid blows against the Phyrrians.

The story that started nearly 10 years ago has entered its final arc before the universal evolves 1,000 years into the future.

New players will be unable to apply for characters at OtherSpace: New Journeys after Oct. 1.

As of 11 p.m. Eastern last night, OtherSpace: New Journeys is no longer accepting applications for characters from new players.

Only current and returning players can apply for new characters.

Our playerbase is locked in for the final New Journeys story arc, which will last until June 2008 when the game evolves into OtherSpace: Millennium.

Those interested in participating in the beta of OS:M, starting in January 2008, must get a character to Level 50 on one of our sister games, Necromundus (jointhesaga.com 3005).
