I always coveted the times when I was alone on a mud. It meant complete domination of all areas in which I wanted to level and temporary safety from PK.

good morrow and bright blessings.
When I first discovered mudding, I played on a very small mud, where people often found themselves alone. Fortunately, there was a lot you could do there as one person. People would explore, sit in the bar and talk (smirk) to the bartendar. Whatever floated their fancy. For some, it was a great opportunity. Most of the rest of us were bored. Eventually, most left (some came back later, but few stayed.) We found muds with larger player bases or those with player bases who were on when we were. When I go looking for a new mud to mess around in, one of the things I look for is player base. I don't want it so large they ignore me, or so small I cannot get help if I wander into the wrong place. I would look for a secondary mud that met your off peak needs myself. Blessed be and good luck |

I know the RoD playerbase.
I know allot of the "well known" people on RoD, the spammers/chatters as you call them. I still want to beat most of them to death with a club. |

I think the best thing one can do at times such as this is to go out into the world and find people to recruit to said MUD. This is a great time because you have them to yourself and can give them 100% attention.
Eventually you will have a decent base during these quiet times. ... |

Maybe I'm too old, Shao_Long. But I would find myself leaving a mud quickly where that is all the players have to do.
Opps wrong place for this, but was responding to your quotes. |

Let's see... in the main mush I play... when there's no one on or maybe a precious few in deep space on their ships far away from my reach... hmm, the first thing I would do is check my mail and the motd of the orgs that I have joined, then +headlines to see whatever happened ic while I was logged out, and then finally I'd check on the bboard for the latest posts. Then... I'd log out.
And the mud I am trying out I mostly level at Braem and then explore and then get mangled when I wander away to someplace really far like the wastes. And the other mush I'm trying out has people at all hours. It seems like a great place. But submit logs to gain xp no more than twice a week? create your own player generated adventure then post for players? If I had no other mu* to play at this mush might be for me, but right now I just don't have the dedication for it. Oh well time will tell. Having typed this all up... I suddenly check back and discover that the thread is about advise and not me... Uhm, I am kinda sleepy... darn, sorry. Hmm, I recommend surfing! I also recommend music cds! I also recommend windy terraces for some reason too! What else... read the forums at tms, and tmc. Read online comics like pvponline and exploitationnow. Hmm, oh yeah... go home and go to bed. That's sounds good and I think I'll do just that. Bya! |
