Hello,

not only would I want to invite you to have a look at one of the oldest LPmuds still around, but I would also like to point out that - like each year - the Easter bunny will soon (Saturday, 7 April) start to hide eggs all over Nightfall's 20 000 rooms! Finding these eggs will provide you with some nice extras not otherwise available in the mud as well as give you a hint at the vast areas waiting for you to explore them.

Apart from this current event, Nightfall sports a small, yet active community of both players and coders, with the latter adding new features all the time. You can choose and switch between 15 guilds (sometimes called classes) all offering unique features aiding you in the exploration of the huge world and solution of more than 50 large quests and even more smaller and hidden so-called mini-quests.

Since a few months, Nightfall also offers a new newbie introduction scene which shows you a key point in the game's history from a very special perspective and lets you get an idea of the relations between the different races and cities.

While at high levels gaining experience by killing NPCs is a key point of level advancement, you can easily reach level 10 without killing a single monster.

Once you reach level 21 and gain HLP status, you may ask to become a wizard and help develop the world, or you can continue questing and fighting until you reach level 50. Of course, even if you decide to go on playing, you ask to become a wizard any time, provided that you find an established wizard willing to promote you and give you an introduction to the mudlib.

Nightfall relies on your common sense and does not want to impose many complicated rules on you apart from these two:

1) No playerkilling without the other player’s consent or an aggressive act from that player.
2) Behave as you would in the real world.

The mud’s stance on role-playing is equally undecided - while you certainly are allowed to role-play as much as you want, nobody will force you into it.

Nightfall is part of the imud2 and imud3 networks and also offers a highly-developed internal communication system.

Finally, one of the highlights of Nightfall is certainly the Guide, a collection of player-written articles containing many valuable maps, explanations, hints, poems and everything else you would not expect from it.
