Whats the most simplist MUD codebase out i get confused with big stuff and the coding style of the coders dont help
i just wanna see how the movement system works oh
and im thinking on coding a MUD from scratch in java all OO
can you give me some tips plz

Go with Diku or one of its derivatives. Stay away from advanced stackmachine based codebases like ldmud or genesis.

i agree, go with a diku based mud.. Like Merc, Smaug, Rom, Something like that..

I personaly prefer Rom, i find it easy to code in, but i've been hearing allot about smaug being easier to code in. Its a personal preferance.

Heya,

Well there are some muds called tiny mud or simple mud I believe. They are very small. Just look on ftp.game.org and pick a view. Smaug is rather big still.

You could try PerlMUD, www.boutell.com/perlmud. It's small, easy, and uses no pointers.

Lots of Pointers you say.. (snickers) i never would of guessed.

I personaly am a Rom fan, i find it to be quite easy, despite the abundance of pointers(snickers)

as for perl mud, thats fine an dandy, if you know perl.
