As The Cathyle Project prepares for alpha testing following a three year development process, we're looking for a designer and webmaster to create and manage a page that will serve as an informative resource for both players and staff.
WHAT IS THE CATHYLE PROJECT?
An intensive roleplaying environment, The Cathyle Project has been in the works since January, 1999. With a complex and unique theme and world designed by Creative Director Edward Falconer, a custom and extremely advanced code written in C++ by programmer Brian Lindahl, and a dedicated, stable and resource-rich box and site maintained by Unifex, The Cathyle Project has been called frightningly ambitious with incredible potential from many keystones of the MU* community including Outremer's Duke, OtherSpace's Wes Platt and GodWars' KaVir.
The world, a medieval, middle-fantasy realm brimming with intrigue was designed hand-in-hand with the coded structures. In other words, every line of code has been written to promote both roleplaying and the specific world where play will take place.
WHO ARE THE DESIGNERS?
-Edward Falconer has been an active member of the MU* community for over seven years, has served as both roleplaying and player administrator on four environments and is a contributor to Top Mud Sites and other online MU* journals.
-Brian Lindahl is an experienced and creative programmer who has assisted several MUDs in their code and is, with Unifex, designing an open-source database system for MUDs.
-Unifex, Site Administrator, is known as a keystone in the MU* community and is currently working on a codebase called Deus that will eventually be released to the public. The site he maintains boasts nearly unlimited resources and a dedicated line.
WHO WILL WE HIRE?
We're looking for a skilled and active webmaster who is not only proficient in various tools for website creation (including HTML, Flash, php and some graphic design) but also a creative and interesting personality who seeks to be part of a close-knit and hard-working team. Our approach to the website is that it must be both informative and enrapturing, capable of luring new players to the game while providing all players with a base to work from.
WHAT COMPENSATION WILL WE OFFER?
As The Cathyle Project has been envisioned as a free realm for interactive storytelling, monetary payment is out of the question at this time.
The webmaster will receive permanent acknowledgement both on the website and within the game. In addition, a staff position will be offered and we'd welcome a webmaster that wants to be part of the development process and a role in the administration of the game itself. Along with the staff position comes a email@example.com email address and use of our server for a personal webpage, if needed.
HOW DO I CONTACT THE CATHYLE PROJECT?
If you're interested, feel free to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest and request more, specific information.
If you'd like to speak in real-time, you can contact me under AIM: EdwardFalconer.
While a version of the game is up and running at cathyleproject.com 4000, it is locked via password to non-staff members at this time.
Thank you, in advance, for your interest.
