The Mysts of Turmoil mud has been up and running for over one year. We are
still in major development and expect to be for at least another 6 to 9
months before going into beta testing.
When it comes to building and coding, we strive for quality over quantity.
We have a few very strict guidelines when it comes to descriptions. We
require all builders to submit an overview and map of the area they wish to
build prior to assigning vnums. We have an extensive background history in
place that gives a lot of possibilities for builders to expand upon the
storyline or for ideas.
We have an excellent building interface for OLC. Our OLC system makes it
extremely easy for setting all of the various flags and other options when
it comes to building.
Some of the features that have been put into place for the players to take
part in are: Player Owned Kingdoms, Kingdom Warfare, Overland Ansi Maps,
Player Owned Housing and Shops, Mounts that Level, Ships and Wagons, and
Our goal is to have all original areas and currently only have one stock
We have an extensive website setup with a lot of information for the player
and immortal to take advantage of. We have active discussion forums,
information on each class and race, kingdom information, an extensive and
searchable creature database, and all sorts of information for builders to
use as helpful resources of information.
For our coders, we use CVS to manage the source code. We have a project
database setup to keep track of what all needs worked on and to keep track
of who is working on what. We supply each coder with their own test port,
shell, and email account.
All immortals start out at level 103 until their area outline is approved
and policies have been read. We also require coders to read and sign a
non-disclosure agreement. Advancements are based on attitude, quality of
work, dedication, and productivity. Everyone is treated with respect and we
expect everyone to treat each other with courtesy.
