Frogdice (Threshold RPG) booth at PAX East 2013.

Is anyone else here going to the PAX East gaming convention next weekend? (March 22-24).

Frogdice has a booth there this year. We are part of the Indie MegaBooth. Our booth is #785.

If anyone is attending, please stop by and visit. Dalaena will be there as well.

Games we are showing off (#4 is being announced for the first time at PAX East):

1) Threshold RPG: old school, text based, RP required MUD/RPG (duh!)

2) Coin 'n Carry: build your medieval shop through mini-games and social gameplay.

3) Tower of Elements: match 3 + tower defense + RPG + awesome.

4) Dungeon of Elements: RPG dungeon crawler with combat inspired by Dr. Mario and alchemical crafting.

Re: Frogdice (Threshold RPG) booth at PAX East 2013.

PAX was freakin' amazing! Sadly, the internet access was terrible which made it impossible to show off Threshold or Coin 'n Carry. But overall, it was a great weekend for us at Frogdice.
  • We brought 400 game codes on printed cards to sell Tower of Elements. We sold them all! Now I wish we'd printed more, but the response exceeded our expectations.

  • We also signed up an additional 500+ people to an email list who wanted to buy Dungeon of Elements (it is not available yet).

  • I figured out that every 84 seconds we were either selling a copy of Tower of Elements or signing someone up to be notified when they can buy Dungeon of Elements. There were people buying ToE and signing up to buy DoE simply from watching other people play. Next PAX we need more computers and more staff.

  • We were interviewed by tons of media and their reaction to ToE, DoE, and early concepts from our next game were extremely positive. Their excitement level over the unique ideas behind our games was massive. They were gushing about our games. Articles are steadily coming out, and over the last week the Frogdice twitter account has gained over 14,000 new followers. These media contacts are going to be huge for helping promote all future games.

  • We met with Sony and they want Tower of Elements and Dungeon of Elements on the Playstation Vita and Playstation 4. A rep from Sony played our games and loved them. He is sending us dev kits and test units of the Platstation Vita and the Playstation 4!!!

Here is a photo album from PAX East for the curious:

We are definitely going back next year!

Damnit, I worked PAX and only just saw this.
Daily hour break wasn't nearly long enough to see everything. :-(
Great news about the Sony reps!
