Old mud I used to play, I knew one guy who would have a male main character, then make 2-3 female alts. All the guys would flock to help these alts, level them up, give them equipment and gold to woo them, and then he'd just transfer the stuff to his main character and start the testosterone fishing again. Worked perfectly almost every time. I figure it's all the 13 year old Galahad wannabes that do this. Or maybe they have hope for an irl relationship. No clue. But it worked, and I was always jealous, but never quite jealous enough to try it.

I'm male in real life but I have a female character on the MUD. And for some reason I cannot get anyone to flirt with me no matter what I do.

Either I've had bad luck with men, or I'm just not very good at playing a female.

But my experience does suggest that not all males that play on MUDs are libido-driven flirts who try to chat up every female character they see.

Well, not really. I'm just an insatiable flirt with a few of my chars. It's an amusing thing to do to pass the time.

And I am proud to say that I have not ever asked ASL yet

. Nor have I tried to cross-sex (Well, except for IC NPC's and such, but considering this topic, I'd assume that all of me would be seriously into the pasttime formerly known as 'RP'.)
