This is a discussion on "Invision skins" in the Top Mud Sites Tavern of the Blue Hand forum : Anyone know of any sites for quality skins for Invision forums 2.1.* (the latest basically) besides Ibunique and The Skinnery? I can google around, but the first few sites I looked at besides those had pretty sub-par skins. Thanks! --matt... |

Invisionize is really the only source I was able to find for skins when I skinned ours. I thought about making our own eventually, but I'm too lazy to go through all the little graphics.
You could probably at least find one that's close to what you want and edit it to fit your tastes so that the majority of the work is done for you. If anything, the site has the SSI script for adding recently updated posts to your main page if you decide to, which seems popular among most sites. |

Does Invision have any of the same problems some other BB packages have with security holes via skins?

I keep my global file CHMOD to 644 just in case, but I also user an older (1.3.1) version of the board. I can still make general changes, but global masks and such require the global file to be set at 666 for changes.
I did get hit by a worm once, which I got rid of and checked the permissions on all my files. Other than that I've had no problems and as long as you have everything CHMOD correctly, it should be fine. |

I've thought about it, if I can find a copy of the upgrade I might. Though it may force me to reskin the forum.
