Yeah, annoying, especially as security of our forums is not something we're supposed to have to worry about. A third party hosts them and maintains them server-side.

There are regular backups kept in any case, so nothing lost, but still, annoying.

Hackers, from Turkey apparently, exploiting a bug in the forum software that's since been fixed.

To finally rename the nation of Turkey as: CHICKEN

I know of at least one other MUD (not one of ours) whose forums got whacked by the same guys. Now, your theory that their plan is to rename Turkey as 'chicken' is a good one, but I think that the fact that they're attacking mud forums should tell us something. They don't just want to be called 'Chicken'. They're aiming straight for 'Mudhen.'
