He, in our mud spamming is the ultimate crime. It's about the only thing you get silenced/frozen/banned for (the choice is determined by the content of the spam).

Spamming Forums I can live with, although I still think that the entire 'star' system they have got here is a bit silly.

It means that if you spam the board with hundreds of silly posts, you get to be an 'Elite Member' a lot faster than people that post sensibly. It also means that new posters with few stars get looked down upon by some of the more stupid oldtimers, even though the opinions of the newcomers can be just as valid as those of someone who's been on the list for ages.

I've seen both things happen more than once.

The star system encourages posters like Xanferious and friends -Points to the 'heh' post in this very thread- to just post mindless babble of one-word posts. Aka, spam.

Should just remove stars and post counts from public view. It'd sure stop alot of the "undesireables" from posting their "undesireables".

Just I might have to cut the spamming down a lot cuz I dont have a persistent i-net connection now..
Second : Why do I have to go ? Cuz some nice people called my parents say 'You spend more time in I-net then in school ! If you got your exams screwed,just pray ! And,we have to pay just to let you kill your life ?' heh..As if I had my life without internet...Anyways,they wont pay for me to be happy,and so I got i-net only when I get some money for i-net cafe,or when I get the chanse to jump to classmate's place for a second or two.

I find that an interesting comment from someone with as many posts as you. And then I go to the TMS homepage and see every single post on the recent posts from you.

I noticed the same thing.  Every single one of the "recent posts" was by Xanferious.  4 of them were less than 1 line long, the other 2 were slightly under 1.5 lines of text.  It might be an improvement from his one-word replies, but it's still spam.

Is it just my imagination, or do the quality of posts seem to have gone drastically downhill since we moved over to the new system?

You're right, and I must admit I'm part of it. I've been spamming a little bit on these forums because I was one of the longest registered members on the old forum and I kind of miss my posts...

I suppose I could get all my posts back the normal way, by posting on serious threads with usefull replies that will hopefully help/convince/enlighten someone, but this certainly is fast, and more fun for a bit

Other then that, it's just a matter when I get tired of spamming. Have been doing for a 2,5 years now and while it is fun on new forums, it loses it's "edge" after a bit. Besides, I'm already second with the total ammount of posts. But besides that, I still do occasionally post usefull stuff when I can give a good reply to something... So I hope you'll agree with me that I do NOT only waste forum space.

I guess it shows in the post count, doesn't it? I was more silent in the beginning, mainly because I still was heavily addicted to mudding back then and hence why my activity on these forums was less thenn what it was after my mudding days. But then again, after my mudding days I got busy on another forum so I didn't get to post daily on it either.

And besides, I never did hear you about me spamming on the old forums, so I'm going to dismiss your complaints as sudden and random hostility for a rather unknown reason. I quite liked you back then, instead of the arrogant prick you are nowadays.

Um. Is Forsaken still looking for coders? You have been spamming the advertising for staff forums for months. If people haven't responded by now they are not going to do it. It gets pretty annoying to see you pandering your mud every single day. It may be cute to you, but it is rather annoying and and unfair to those who do not bump their mud to the front every day. I bet if we counted all the ^bumps^ and and random one-word posts on all of your 'forsaken is..." threads, it would be more than most people have entirely.

Besides, if someone is really looking to join a mud they will peruse the entire thread, and not merely respond to the one that is on the front page.
