Avatars are fun =). It's interesting to see how many hits your avatar and profile pic gets on your webserver, if you've got one.

I wish the limits were higher. 64x64 just doesn't do my poor Alita justice... But I'm not complaining =).

How do you get a webserver to track the ammount of hits on a JPG then?

Can you pull that on an Apache server?

Is so, tell me how and I'll marry you!

I just use a simple script:

grep "picname.jpg" /var/log/httpd/access_log | wc -l

I also like to filter it through another grep so I can parse where the hits came from.

I've gotten 45 hits on my icon so far, and 2 on my profile pic from here.

That's because your host, talk city, doesn't like referrals from TMS =). If you manually type in the URL you will see your image in the browser (because there is no referral), then you'll see it here because it's been cached by your browser. You'll have to find a webhost that lets you do this sort of referral.

Also, your image isn't 64x64, so it looks like a very scrunched dragon =).

I use full-size pictures that I've got lounging around. Get a free image editor, such as IrfanView. Crop out the area you don't want, then simply resize it to 64x64. You can see I did this with Mustard Man and Cliche Kitty above, and Alita (the pic in my profile).

As for getting a server, I can't really help there beyond letting people use Cliche Kitty =). For some reason, nobody likes to use Mustard Man...

Not really. Masons are always free to reveal their own membership. They are less likely to reveal the membership of other members. Being a member isn't a secret in itself. Though there are, of course, things I can't tell you.
