Honestly, I was just kidding =). I've admin'd Linux machines for nearly eight years and yet you automagically dislike me because I just happen to take a poor orphaned FreeBSD server under my wing? For shame!

I couldn't find any pics of it, but you can just imagine all of my other Tuxes teaming up on that poor mischevious Daemon... =)

Lindows - Right now, it's even worse then WinE (winehq.com).

Lycoris is, apparently, running roughshod over Lindows's supposed multi-platform support. Native Linux support, and it can actually run quite a few Windows games/programs if you actually have the knowhow.

but it has some perspectives ,thats for sure..
well,it might be good for i net,but,as long as its just inet...erm..can anyone tell me,would i used comp for anything except inet if i would had inet at my comp ? i cant remember anything,that is better then muds,spamming,and stuff in 'net

(btw,dont try to tell me that internet had no creators as is,and was created by a group of students in universities,and blahblahblah..I know Glorious history of this Great thing well enough

Actually, "the internet" wasn't invented. It evolved from what was once known as ARPANET, which was a network made between several top-priority military bases and installations like NORAD in the US. The main thing of all this was, that even IF a foreign hostile power managed to knock out several airfields, the lines of communication between the rest would still be open for an effective counterattack.

Fortunatly, Universities also liked this system and thus they hooked up on this ARPANET, using it for rather usefull purposes now like transmitting research data. Eventually, ARPANET was also connected to home machines using modems, thus forming the basis of the internet.

The form of the internet as we know it mainly, like these forums, wasn't a reality untill they created the HTTP protocol, allowing raw data to be send over a connection and to be displayed in a user friendly way on a GUI we all know as a "browser". This is the start of what we knows as "the internet".
