Reviews are temporarily down - we're being spammed on them by a bot and the way they lock files doesn't handle it too well.

I've had three players now, email me to let me know that they had topmudsites reviews were down. Any time frame for when they will be fixed? We've done a lot of work, and at some point want to advertise here again, but will not until our players can put their reviews up, at least one of which will probably be negative. I don't mind negative reviews, I just want our players to be able to give their input. It helps us to see even the negative reviews too, so, any idea abut when they'll be back up?

Hi Alaire,

The current review system turned out to be insecure and was being hijacked by spammers. It is in the process of being rewritten and the new version will allow discussion and responses to be posted below each review as a fair way to give others a chance to respond. Historically responses have always been posted in the forums but that doesn't help when someone reviews the review a year later.

This is why re-enabling reviews is taking so long. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's sounds like a really good improvement.

Hopefully it will also encourage the muds that currently don't allow reviews to get out of the closet.
